Assessing garden pea germplasm for powdery mildew resistance through disease phenotyping and genotyping using molecular markers

چکیده

Erysiphe pisi is one among the other causal agents of powdery mildew infection in garden pea. So far, resistance genes comprising two recessive (er1 and er2) dominant (Er3) have been reported to confer A set 46 pea genotypes were screened against E. isolate- Ep01 greenhouse conditions identify resistant genotypes. Disease reaction genotyping carried out test for resistance/ susceptibility through gene-specific sequence characterized amplified region (SCAR) markers. The presence alleles control genotypes- JI2302 er1 gene, JI2480 er2 gene P660–4 Er3 was confirmed their respective genotype- Arkel served as a negative control. Screening germplasm revealed 3 highly resistant, 6 while 10 moderately 13 susceptible, 9 susceptible 5 susceptible. molecular marker Sc-OPE-161600 found be segregating most except control- Arkel. marker- ScX17_1400 homozygous condition associated with resistance, SCW4637, heterozygous majority P660–4.

Association mapping for resistance to powdery mildew in oriental tobacco (Nicotiana tabaccum L.) germplasm

Powdery mildew caused by Erysiphe cichoracearum is an important fungal disease which threatens tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) production. The objective of this study was to determine DNA markers linked to genomic regions associated with resistance to powdery mildew in tobacco through the association mapping approach. Seventy tobacco geno-types were fingerprinted using 26 simple se-quence repeat...

Powdery mildew resistance genes in wheat: verification of STS markers.

Five accessions of Aegilops speltoides and 67 European wheat cultivars (winter and spring) originating from the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, United Kingdom, and 4 non-European wheat cultivars from Brazil and the USA were examined with molecular Sequence Tagged Site (STS) markers for resistance genes to powdery mildew: Pm 1, Pm 2, Pm 3 and Pm 13. All markers gave clear, rep...

شناسایی نشانگرهای ISSR آگاهی بخش مرتبط با تحمل به سفیدک پودری در گیاه بالغ جو

Powdery mildew (Blumeria graminis f. Sp. Hordei) is one of the most destructive foliar diseases in barley that cause yield reduction worldwide.  DNA molecular markers can be used to study the genetic diversity and better understanding of genetic predisposition to disease resistance to powdery mildew in barley at early growth stage.  Selection of resistance and tolerance need to identify molecul...

Identifying Resistance to Powdery Mildew Race 2W in the USDA-ARS Watermelon Germplasm Collection

Powdery mildew caused by Podosphaera xanthii has recently become an important disease of watermelon [Citrullus lanatus (Thunb.) Matsum. & Nakai] in the United States. The disease can be controlled with fungicides, but it would be more economical and environmentally safe to use genetic resistance. Here, we report sources of resistance to powdery mildew race 2W identifi ed in the evaluation of th...

Screening some Iranian Muskmelon Landraces for Resistance Against Fusarium Wilt Disease using Molecular Markers

Fusarium wilt is one of the most destructive diseases of muskmelon (Cucumis melo L.), which is an economically important disease worldwide causes yield losses in muskmelon growing areas. One of the most effective controlling measures to prevent Fusarium wilt is through host resistance by using resistance genes. We used developed molecular markers for Fom-2 gene, which confers ...
